By using the websites (“GEN-CH Websites”) of Global Entrepreneurship Network Switzerland, Rosenweg 2, 4500 Solothurn, Switzerland (“GEN-CH”), you accept the following Privacy Statement and that the personal data you provide to (“GEN-CH Websites”) may be processed as set forth herein. Scope of the Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement describes what type of personal data GEN-CH collects from users of GEN-CH Websites (“Personal Information”), the method of their collection, and the purposes of using, sharing and/or disclosing such Personal Information. This Privacy Statement applies only to Personal Information obtained by GEN-CH through the use of GEN-CH Websites and not to third party websites.

Type of data and purposes of their collection

GEN-CH may collect Personal Information (such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, etc.) that you provide or make available to GEN-CH through the use of the GEN-CH Websites, e.g. by entering them on a registration form, signing up for a newsletter, sending an e-mail, providing feedbacks, etc. GEN-CH may use such Personal Information for the purposes indicated or evident from the circumstances at the time of collection or for purposes provided for by law. In particular, the Personal Information will be used for improving the GEN-CH Websites, products and services, for statistical and market research purposes, for customer and user administration, for technical operations and security, for complying with applicable laws and regulations. If you have registered to receive regular updates from GEN-CH, you may opt out from receiving such communication at any time by phone, in writing or by e-mail.

Furthermore, when you access the GEN-CH Websites, the web server of GEN-CH automatically records and stores in a log file certain Personal Information about your access, e.g. your IP address, the date and the duration of your file request, the pages of the GEN-CH Websites that you actually visit, the website from which you visit the GEN-CH Websites, the volume of data transferred, the type of web browser and operating system you used, the name of your internet service provider. This Personal Information is collected only for the purposes of technical administration and security as well as for better understanding the usage of the GEN-CH Websites. It is analyzed without any link to personally identifiable information.

Cookies

Additionally to the foregoing, GEN-CH may gather Personal Information by using so called cookies, i.e. small text files which the GEN-CH Websites transmit to your browser cache and which enable the GEN-CH Websites to recognize your device next time you access to the GEN-CH Websites. Cookies save your settings and provide GEN-CH with information on how you use the GEN-CH Websites for improving the contents and compiling anonymous aggregated statistics about the use of the GEN-CH Websites for market research purposes. However, cookies do not identify you personally and GEN-CH will use cookies only on a non-personal basis.

Web analytics

The GEN-CH Websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information on behalf of GEN-CH for the purpose of evaluating your use of the GEN-CH Websites, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Disclosure of information

GEN-CH may disclose, inside or outside your country of residence, your Personal Information (i) to Global Entrepreneurship Network Global Entrepreneurship Network (Arlington CO) (alias “The Public Forum Institute”), a not-for-profit corporation based in Virginia, United States (4527, 17th Street North, Arlington, Virginia 22207, USA; SCC ID: 05552906) and/or other local organizations of the network “Global Entrepreneurship Network” that may use your Personal Information for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Statement, (ii) to third party service providers of GEN-CH who may use it for the purposes for which it was originally collected and (iii) to public authorities.

GEN-CH may store and process Personal Information at any of its or its hosting providers’ facilities, including abroad, and may delegate the processing of such information to affiliates and third parties.
